Play a Memory Game

IDEA PROMPT:
During quiet play a fun memory game with crayons or other writing tools. Look around the room for 30 seconds, then close your eyes and try to remember as many things as you can! Once the timer goes off, grab your crayons and draw everything you remember.

TALK ABOUT IT - Conversation Starters:

  • What is a memory?
  • What are tips or tricks that can help us remember something we saw, heard, or thought?
  • Why is memory important?
  • How does a game make memory fun?

LOOK FOR IT - Observations

  • As you look at the objects, try to make a story about them (like the key kissed the book and this made the spoon sad, but the cup laughed at the sight!). Of course, your story will be based on the objects you are trying to remember.
  • See if storytelling helps you remember more objects than just looking and hoping you remember.
