Secret Reveal Valentines

Surprise friends and classmates with secret Valentine messages. White crayon designs on the DIY Valentine’s Day cards are magically revealed with watercolors!

Supplies Needed

Gather all the supplies needed to bring your craft ideas to life! From paints and markers to glue and scissors, our crafts section has everything to spark creativity and make every project truly special.

  • Crayons
  • Watercolors
  • Cardstock
  • Envelope(s)
  • Pencil(s)

Steps

  • Step 1

    Lightly draw the outline of a heart with a pencil on cardstock.

  • Step 2

    Use a white crayon to create your secret designs, messages, and names on the card.

  • Step 3

    Use a black crayon to write “to” and “from” on the card.

  • Step 4

    Cut out the shape of the heart with scissors.

  • Step 5

    Place in an envelope and give to a friend, letting them know to use watercolors to reveal the secret. You can also give watercolor paint along with the card as a Valentine’s Day gift.

  • Step 6

    Use watercolors to paint over the card to reveal the secret Valentine designs and messages!
